Review: Photoshop CS4

photoshop_cs4It’s been a while since I first started using CS4, and I thought I’d give it a quick review.

CS4 is a definite MUST if you have a tablet. It now features smoother scrolling of the page (when you hold the Spacebar and move your work across, it does a “glide” sort of thing to have a more natural feel), and an easier way to rotate the picture while working with it, which has replaced the Blur tools shortcut key (”R”). It also features 3D modeling, and while it requires a computer with an intensive graphics processor, it’s still cool.

On the downside, a more powerful computer is required to run CS4, but anyone with a Dual Core processor is fine, and those with single core processors may just experience some lag when working with larger files. It also has a nicer navigation to it, and computers with a large screen now work in a tabbed environment.

Tech Talk: Apple Computers (a.k.a. Macs)

newpro1I’m thoroughly impressed by Apple’s newest computers, and the upgrades they’ve done on the old ones. The Mac Mini’s now have more hard drive space and more RAM, as well as an nVidia card, and the MacBook “White” also has the nVidia card, to match the rest of Apple’s computers. (It makes me wish I had waiting a few more months to buy my Mac!)

nVidia cards have the extreme advantage over Intel cards in the fact that they take over the graphics processing instead of having the computer do it. This makes the computer generally faster and everything looks more aesthetic. I just wish my computer had one in it, then I could play some more intensive games… Intel cards are kind of becoming obsolete because companies like Apple are changing their motherboards up so that the only “Intel” piece is really just the processor. Really, look inside the newer Macs and everything around the processor is nVidia.

Album Review: Natalie Grant: Relentless

This is by far the best album I have ever heard. It starts off with “I Will Not Be Moved”, which is catchy and obviously gained a lot of popularity by itself, but the album itself is very moving and you have to listen to each song completely before you can judge it because many songs start off a bit awkwardly.
